Kyle Bachus Defends Court’s Collateral Source Decision in Point/Counterpoint Discussion
Recently Kyle Bachus, founding partner of Bachus & Schanker, was called upon to defend his position in support of recent Colorado Supreme Court decision regarding the collateral source rule. Stating his position in juxtaposition to that of attorney Heather Salg, Mr. Bachus clearly explains why he believes the court’s ruling that evidence of benefits or gifts received by a plaintiff from someone other than the defendant is inadmissible at trial is both reasonable and just. Ultimately, Mr. Bachus holds, the court’s ruling will result in more case settlements being reached and fewer motions.
